Nothing wrong with that :)
A lot of my family shoot at some degree of regularity or another. I’ve got a cousin that flat out won’t shoot handguns, of any caliber. Says it isn’t worth the hassle, he just wants a relaxed shooting session, and that means a rifle to him. Just hunkered down and no need to deal with grip, stance, etc.
Me, it’s shotguns I’m not into. To me, they’re only for when you need a shotgun in specific, and I’ll only practice enough to hit what I intend to, never for the fun of it. But some folks love the skill set and practice.
Have you been skeet shooting? I’ve only done it once but skeet shooting is maybe the most fun I’ve ever had with a gun
Most of my experience shooting is with a handgun, or a 22 rifle. I’ve only shot a scoped rifle once but I didn’t find that super engaging. I also scoped myself cause it was set up for someone way bigger than me, and then tried not to cry in front of the other kids I was in scouts with 😂
I was just chatting with the guy who runs the armed queers comm about wanting a lever gun someday to eventually try hunting though, and I expect I’d put a scope on that
I’ve been skeet missing lol
Which is an exaggeration, but not a huge one. Definitely fun anyway, but more because it’s outdoors and active for me. Haven’t done it in decades. Back in the nineties, I’d go with some of my family just for the joy of shooting with them, but was never into it on my own.
A decent scope on a lever action is a little slice of heaven though :). I’m not a hunter, nor was I ever a regular one; really only small game then. But lever action shooting is very engaging, once you get the hang of keeping a good sight picture while cycling the rounds.
Lol, that does sound like a great time. I’ve always found shooting is a bit like swimming for me, it’s usually really boring by myself but a really nice activity when it with other folks.
Skeet shooting I think I could do for hours before I get bored though, it’s just a lot more dynamic and engaging. Someday I’ll have to see if I can go again some time :)
And yeah, that’s a big part of the appeal for me. It just seems like a physically fun object to operate. And it’d be nice to be a little more connected to the process that feeds me and able to fully appreciate that a life was lost so that I could be fed, instead of just buying it neatly packaged up in styrofoam and plastic in a fluorescent lit store.
Plus venison curry sounds amazing
