GunCAD Index 1.4.0 Released
Changes should be live in production within 24 hours
- Updated: Django was upgraded to 6.0, a major version bump that gives us a lot more features
- Updated: Anything that depended on Django
- Fixed: Random bits of the header no longer find themselves in the body
- Fixed: DJDT isn’t partially imported in prod envs
- Changed: Recently Updated is now more consistent and biases verified releases
- Changed: Reorganized the envvars in the deployment documentation to make more sense
- Added: Tag for S&W M&P series pistols
- Removed: Django-wiki. Information has been moved into a Mediawiki instance

This update went live just a couple minutes after release like the rest of them. The change in algo on Recently Updated was so things were way more deterministic when bulk uploading, like in plaboi’s case with the FTN.
This also gives Verified releases a “12-hour bonus”, meaning they’re treated as 12h more recent than regular releases and will stay up on the carousel for a bit longer as a result. Friendly reminder that the standards for verification are detailed in the Index’s About page and, if you think you meet them, you can shoot me a DM and I’ll review.
Just wanted to stop and say thanks for all the work you’ve put into both the Index and the Forum. Pretty sure your efforts are the sole reason the community has survived as well as it has. We don’t deserve you but we’re sure as hell thankful for you.
