This originally got posted by someone to Reddit yesterday. But apparently I’m not the only one currently unable to access the Guncad Index website, and it’s been down since yesterday. Anyone have data on what’s up with that? Just curious.

To answer your question: Yes.
Good to know. That makes sense. I have location off for everything, which for whatever reason makes most websites assume I’m in California.
It would know your location based off of your ISP. You’d need to use an actual VPN to spoof your location to access.
Yep. Interestingly enough, I’m in Utah. My phone perpetually has the wifi turned off, and I never enable location services for my main browser. So it’s quite inaccurate when it defaults to California for my location. But I’m accessing it just fine now once I turned on my usual VPN.
location services just applies to front end applications that may require it, like offerup or google maps or something. turning off location services doesn’t mean it hides your location or makes it “private”. it will still default to an ISP server using an IP pretty local to your area.
