I just want to pass this story along to the community.

Back when I was in nursing school during the pandemic, I remember hearing about how Canadian scientists had developed a snake venom based product that used UV light to cure itself and stop bleeding cold in its tracks. They did some experiments with rats and cut parts of the poor things off to induce terminal bleed out cases to test their formulation and actually had great success keeping the rats from fatal exsanguination. I always wondered if anything like that would ever be available for civilians.

Recent advances in medical technology have given rise to new treatment options for severe bleeding control. Years and years ago the Japanese began experimenting with “chitosan,” you may have heard about it. Long story short it comes from crustacean exoskeletons. It can be made into all sorts of things.

A new company has figured out how to make a spray foam out of the stuff that is potent enough to stop arterial bleeding. Because it’s a spray foam it can cover and coat complex surfaces like no bandage can. It’s FDA approved, if that means anything to you or not.

It’s 70 bucks for the pro grade stuff, it’s the same formulation as the cheaper smaller can you just get more of it for bigger problems. They are single use cans of spray foam that stops bleeding very effectively. It requires zero training to use, point and spray.

Many of you guys are out here experimenting with some very cool shit, but have you ever considered what you would do if things went wrong? Hopefully you are taking precautions testing new builds and designs when needed, but even if you are I ask you to think about buying a can of this stuff for your go bag. It has a decent shelf life too, 3 years at room temp. You can even get it on payment plans and pay it off as you go, I did.

I don’t work for this company, but I truly appreciate being around to benefit from the amazing minds that have released things to the community free of charge 99.9% of the time. My hope is that someday I can pick up some design skills and be able to make cool shit too.

Check this shit out. Buy a couple cans. Tell people you care about. Godspeed.
