I doubt Isreal trained him, but there is strong intelligence that he was an tool of Mossad and the CIA as in he did work for them. Going back to his plea deal in 2008 when Alex Costa said that he was told to back off (which he did) Epstein’s prosecution because Epstein was involved in ongoing intelligence agency actions. He later denied he said this.
