If Tony Hawk is your only skating game experience, you’re going to be disappointed. The controls are completely different; instead of hitting buttons to do tricks, you move the right joystick. It’s intended to simulate real life skating. You’re not going to pull off a Triple Impossible in this game. Also, the gameplay is nothing at all like Tony Hawk.
Also, unless you mean microtransactions, there’s nothing to buy. The game is F2P so go ahead and grab it from Steam and then see for yourself if you like it or not.
I just downloaded and installed it on my steam deck easily and it plays fine. Also like someone else mentioned it is free. I didn’t see a tutorial or anything so I’m watching videos of how to play now.
It’s f2p, nothing but lame ass skins to buy. I have not played the mod yet but plan on doing so after I get bored of the new Star Wars racer.
The core of the game is actually good, there is a lot of fun to be had if you like skating but holy shit playing the live game is painful and this seems to fix most of that.
I haven’t played a skating game since the old Tony Hawk games. Honestly, this is tempting me to buy Skate.
