I figure by then, it will all be part of some AI training set one day. Hopefully my shitty writing and bad opinions poison the shit out of it.
I have fleas. https://www.snand.org/

Exactly, he was holding a phone and a gun and she didn’t even knock him off balance as he called her a “fucking bitch” as he murdered her.

He’s going to be given or will steal Machado’s peace prize and will crow non-stop about winning it. Another, aggrievement based, ego-soothing tour is on the books.

I am still pissed off about losing Force Touch on the iPhone. Haptic Touch is so much worse and slow. I loved using various pressures with good feedback for things that made sense. It was so much faster and more deliberate than the stupid replacement.
It felt like a great step in this direction, but instead of improving, they just shitcanned it for something much worse.

You too bud, appreciate the constructive back and forth. I am not exactly artful with my words all the time. This shit has everyone on edge, my apologies as well for any aggression, emotions running high these days.

In that case I’m extremely glad I’m the obtuse one.
Your initial comment read to me like you were upset about the “double standard” of tuenip being held accountable for his chosen literature while defending the ones mentioned in the article. I thought you were trying to paint the author as a hypocrite for defending some but not all. I really did read it as someone trying to say, “oh yeah, you say content doesn’t matter but then the left comes at the president for his content”.
I’m so used to seeing fascist takes having become mainstream that I’m overly sensitive. Apologies.

Don’t be so obtuse. African studies and Foucault are not in the same orbit as hitler. It would be maybe notable if a public figure kept a copy of “Discipline and Punish” on their nightstand, would be sorta weird nightly reading and would be good evidence that this person is likely to be strongly influenced by or sympathizes with Foucault.
Reading once, studying in school, etc. are a world apart from reading often enough that you need to keep a copy that accessible.
Let’s also look at these specific people. Remind me how many folks Faucault had murdered?
Lastly, let’s look at the words and behavior of these people in context, not just judged by the words he read. I’ve read lots of nasty shit, but don’t act like a nasty shit. Tuenip has read hiter and now we have concentration camps, imprisoning and denying food to American Citizens.
Nuance is a thing.

D’oh, came here to post this. You win :).

This asshole is going to start a war over the Nobel peace prize.
I’m in the same boat. I love that it makes self hosting easier for me. It does what I need and even gives me a small extra measure of security. I admit, I use it because I’m lazy, I could do it without Cloudflare and do for some services. So, I figure if it truly becomes urgent or intolerable I can drop it from the stack.

I like ‘sloppers’ as a term for the morons distrubing and consuming the shit that the clankers are excreting.

I think I’ve eaten at a cracker barrel twice, both times were on a roadtrip and it was the most established place off an interstate exit, so purely convenience. I haven’t the first clue what they even offer, I just assume it’s all chicken fried and covered with gravy.
That there are people out there absolutely losing their mind over the logo change is one of the most confusing things I’ve ever seen. Who. Fucking. Cares? Goddamn, the group that likes to call everyone else a snowflake, sure is the most infantile people on earth.
That said, I’ll avoid cracker barrel from here on. I really don’t want to be near the sort of people who frequent that establishment. Kudos to them for so proudly self-identifying…

I rest my case.

You come across as a “well ackchyually” dipshit. You might think you are making a point, but think this one through, is it a good one in this context? Is it even a good one at all?

I always assumed it was a lasso.

I wish I could disagree but every day when I try to talk about it, or get people to do something about it with me, so far 100% of time I get pushback for being alarmist, or that it’s fine, we’ll just vote better next time.
It’s more than just the apathy, it’s willing apathy, desired apathy, WEAPONOZED apathy. That’s the problem, those in control know they are working against the will of the people, but they also know the people are to scared, distracted, lazy and stupid to do anything about it.

I mean, this is probably my eventual fate. I have the mantra of “I’ll try anything twice”. It’s led me to some questionable, but so far outrageously fun, adventures in local cuisine.

Right. I’m not against driverless taxis, but they are just another thing that does an already solved job. Maybe it will be a wee bit cheaper, maybe not, but at the end of the day, it’s not me, the user or the service, that these things are for. They are for the cab companies to make bigger profits, maybe pass some savings on to us (not likely, in fact I’ll bet a dollar they charge a premium).
I just don’t get why the hype cycle has captured everyone. Woo, a computer can drive a car, neat… I that’s all the reaction it needs.

Meh, I’ve taken a lot of cab rides, so far no murder. I’m fine taking my chances.
It’s a lot of fun, but not an internet replacement yet. They did just come out with a new dual band that has enough bandwidth to do something useful. Can’t wait to give it a try.
Still very worth setting up. I have a node that runs in my attic, and a few that I can take around with me. I can get good single most anywhere in my neighborhood, and I have enough nodes nearby that I can pretty much communicate with people all over the metro area (I’m in the twin cities).
