FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto World News@lemmy.world•Poliovirus detected in Gaza wastewater, posing "ticking time bomb" for public healthEnglish14·1 year agoTechnically, it’s never been proven that deer can contract CWD from the ingestion of plants. Although, apparently mice and hamsters can.
But, prions suck. Even bleach won’t kill these bastards.
Hell, although there’s no real, strong evidence to suggest it actually has made the jump, and research has shown it would be really difficult, its probably not impossible. If you ENTERTAIN the stories about the people suspected of possibly contracting CWD, it’s even more scary. (Yes, I know the study does more to disprove human infection, than not, but it does a good job of outline suspected cases)

FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto World News@lemmy.world•Tesla’s profits sink as the company struggles with cooling demandEnglish18·1 year agoNot a musk fan, but all these rust problems could have been avoided if the buyers just ponied up another $5,000 for a clear coat.
Even though it’s a really crappy money grab, technically the rust problem isn’t tesla fault per se.

Honestly, I have no idea why any agency in the us feels the need to confirm something that someone else has already owned up to. Seems redundant.

FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto World News@lemmy.world•US Senate Democrats block Republican bid to aid Israel, not UkraineEnglish35·2 years agoEveryone I know is saying it too.
What really stuck out was Putin withdrawing / moving equipment and people, at the same time he’s withdrawing from the nuclear test treaty, all while theyre in a “stalemate” with the Ukraine. I know it’s a testing treaty that even America was never in, but something seems fishy, and no one seems to really be talking about it.
Isreals war is pretty obvious on its face, (You see who’s throwing punches at whom, in the news) but if Russia nukes Ukraine, it’s going to be a whole other animal.

I am somewhat surprised at the use of personal data in the privacy policy.
I understand a guy’s gotta make a living, but with all the hype, I’m not sure I expected this.
FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto Politics@beehaw.org•House GOP Adds Dozens More Poison Pills to Spending Bill20·2 years agoI think alot of people are baffled as to why the Democrats aren’t doing the same, or at least aren’t comming up with some way to stop it from happening.
The idea is that they take the high road. They don’t want to be seen stooping to the rude tactics that the Republicans are using. But, in the end, they just end up advancing the Republicans agenda even further, although at a slower pace.
It’s frustrating, and somewhat suspicious.
