CBC here on the radio news had some streeters/sound bites from some Dutch people. One guy was basically “it’s because of the migrants [that he’s far right voting], and I don’t want any more green stuff”. The others echoed it. Of course, it was a story about the far right rise during EU elections, so those sentiments were highlighted, but still.
It’s sad we see this stuff in Canada, and The Netherlands, and everywhere else deciding they’d rather kill the species than be better.

My reaction to your question was to assume you were a US citizen who was under the impression that the threat in the OP - that one’s vote against Trump would be known by the Republican Party - was legitimate. This compounded my anger at the already ludicrous example of fascism and/or authoritarianism in the OP in seeing someone victim to it. Missing the civil basics whose absence is part of why we are in this… situation.
