I share your sentiment. There’s a lot of work to be done in running general strikes. There’s also work in sabotaging workplaces.

Moscow Mitch’s endorsements couldn’t beat Trump. Mitch McConnel. That guy IS the Kentucky Republican Party…except when Trump disagrees.

I feel the same. I just don’t see how we get this country to lock in. Even as people get upset—in January 2025 over the DOGE terrorism; more recently over these data centers—nothing ever comes of it. Progressive and rational voices speak up, but we’re drowned out.

I fear there is just too much against us. There are too many distractions for the disillusioned. The only current movement that has overcome that is MAGA, with their ravenous hatred; but they obviously aren’t the solution.

I’m not giving up—for I and many others USA politics isn’t something we can “log out” of—but I can’t ignore that all the introspection and analysis I’ve tried runs into the same seemingly-impassible pitfalls.

Have you seen the Republican primaries this month? Trump’s endorsements won across the board. Even Thomas Massie; a Republican who rallied against data centers, big tech remotely controlling cars, and AIPAC; lost his seat because Trump bashed him. It doesn’t seem like voters regret backing Trump at all, as evident by how much shit Trump’s administration is getting away with.

What kind of idiot? A bunch of morons on TikTok who make content either harassing strangers and setting people up for legal and social issues, or who post creep shots of women for their TikTok baby followers.

I’d presume most tech-savvy people don’t have a smart TV, Windows 11 with copilot, a “smart” home system, or refrigerator with AI integrated.

We need to broadcast to the world that visiting the USA for the game is unsafe. Make it EXTREMELY clear that people should not come here. Show videos and pictures of ICE agents detaining people. Broadcast stories of legal immigrants being detained. I don’t have the heart to source the videos and articles now, but I think this is a spot where FIFA and MAGA could both be burned.

Major events like the World Cup are desired specifically as a source of international tourism; and without those tourists, they’re just a major financial hit.

I don’t think one can phrase it better than this. Propaganda, gaslighting, manipulation, and yelling so loud about how holy we all are that any criticism is drowned out. A nation in psychosis.

I hope this strike happens. Just from seeing FIFA catering to Trump, alone, I want their event to fail. I know the strike won’t entirely do that, but it could help.
