Where? I have never experienced this before.
Where? I have never experienced this before.
My personal hope is that this is the end of the Russian Federation. It’s an enormous country which has oppressed and subjugated a bunch of different cultural and ethnic groups to homogenize Russian society according to the leaders’ ideals for a long time and I think it would be better if it was split into smaller countries that would hopefully allow for actual democracy closer to the people.
I mean, not for lack of trying, they did stage a coup and plant the Shah of Iran as the leader for a while
Are you implying that helping and saving people is not worthwhile if it doesn’t immediately put an end to the war?
If anything, it makes the current conflict even worse: Not only have gazans been forced to suffer from israeli occupation, they have also been systematically oppressed by Hamas and now they’re being slaughtered for their sake. I wouldn’t be surprised if this pushed more people towards Hamas or other terrorist organizations in the long run.
But he’d still be in a gulag, I think that part is more important than a clean conscience.
Even if the change is that he gets sent to a Siberian prison and/or executed? As long as the war in Ukraine is ongoing, I sincerely doubt he has any chance of getting out of Russia.
When making an international organization without having the means or the desire to force everyone to join and follow the rules, you have to compromise to make certain states (especially the powerful ones) participate willingly.
I have a slight worry that pardoning Snowden would result in his disappearance/death since Putin would no longer have any use for him. Right now they are protecting someone who is considered an enemy of the US government and has embarrassed the US intelligence apparatus, if that changes then he no longer fills a purpose for the Russian government.
I want Snowden to be home free but right now I think he’s in a precarious situation.
…what do you think democracy is?
and there is less crime
I wouldn’t necessarily bet on this, authoritarian states are breeding grounds for corruption and that in turn fuels crime. I wouldn’t be surprised if China has a problem with criminality that the government, at least on a local level, not only turns a blind eye to but is complicit in.
Vattenfall? Like the swedish state-owned supplier of hydropower? That Vattenfall?
I think I fail to see the relevance a bit. Jews marking others is not only horrific but ironic because that’s part of how they were oppressed in the events leading up to the holocaust.
What are you talking about, when have I insulted you?
Regardless, you didn’t provide much of a rebuttal to the information other than calling it cherry-picked and bullshit attempts at paltering.
So, you’re no longer arguing the topic but the person, do you have any rebuttal for the facts that they’ve presented? Any reason why you should be trusted above SVK?
Two things that are relevant is that Sweden is very, very dark during the winter which reduces the profitability of solar and also that it’s extremely difficult to get approval for wind turbines right now.
Municipalities have the power to veto building projects and almost all of them choose to block wind power installations. Wind turbines generate sound, both audible and infrasound (which can disturb sleep), and are sometimes considered a bit of an eyesore which can both reduce the value of properties near them and make people less inclined to move to that region which reduces tax income for the municipality. This could be offset by taxation of the wind power, but currently all taxable income from wind turbines go to the state instead of any of the local governments.
There was recently an inquiry into how to make municipalities more likely to approve wind power construction and the restriction that the government gave them was that they were not allowed to suggest tax revenue being diverted to the local government. Which was the only suggestion that they said would be effective.
So… yeah.
From the article:
On Thursday, 22 June, Russians reported an attack on a bridge on the administrative border between Kherson Oblast and Crimea near Chonhar.
Not to mention that Smirnova was offered to tap sabers and instead decided to sit and pout for close to an hour.
When did they claim that Israel wasn’t to blame? Two things can be true at the same time.
