The russian army is entirely bound in its invasion into Ukraine. If it weren’t for the threat of nuclear annihilation, NATO would get to Moscow within 3 days. A true 3-day military operation.

I’d go even further. The AfD threatens the current (democratic) system. Most AfD voters vote for them for this exact reason. They want to “enact revenge” on a system they feel left behind by IMO.

Depending on how recently they were executed, it makes perfect sense. As the one holding hostages, you want to set the precedent that the only way to get them out alive is via negotiation.

That is the question I want the asnwer to the most. Will Russia get away with containing the Ukrainian advance with only the troops they have on hand or do they need fo pull troops from the Donbas.

I hope it works out well for Ukraine, but I think we won’t be able to accurately gauge the impact this offensive has for weeks to months even. While Ukraine is pushing into Russia, russian troops are pushing in Donbas.

No, it’s more about the radar and the missile avoidance systems. Though for the AIM air-to-air rockets, they explode so high up in the air that finding wreckage of them may be difficult.

Those planes still operate behind the front line. Maybe NATO is more concerned about planes not being able to protect themselves, than them straying into enemy territory and getting shot down.

Imagine you get a dish worth probably tens of thousands alone and you don’t like it.

As for why Orban is president of Hungary: Corruption and propaganda. Orban controls the big media institutions and has all other press harassed. He has control over the judiciary and a wide net of sympathisers both within and without the government. He is as close to being a dictator as the EU will let him and he keeps testing the waters to strengthen his control further.

A large hungarian voter base is as loyal to him as MAGAites are to Trump.

Iceland and Norway aren’t joining, because they want to control their waters and fishing permits. They still implement all EU regulations not touching those. Switzerland has a weird fetish about being neutral, which currently is just a code word for being the EU’s tax evasion haven. Through agreements with the EU, they too adhere to most EU regulations. And the EU is absolutely attractive to its bigger economies, they get to pull from cheaper labor pools.

I find this kind of reporting very important, as it highlights the ways in which Ukrainian society has improved, but also what still needs improvement.
