Same! Hunting Soul is too good. Probably the most Eurovision-like song too, along with Creepy Nuts

No longer necessary, it worked this time! Thanks though!

The link is stuck loading for me unfortunately (Firefox and Vivaldi)

Fuck, this was a hard watch (in a good way)

Sure, Asa’s team basically executed every adult in the village, but it feels like she had reasons we just don’t know yet.
There better be a damn good reason, like the entire village were genocidal maniacs or something, because no other reason seems reasonable here.

I have a similar opinion. I’m not gonna go and sympathise/empathise with mass murderers, but it feels like they want us to.
Also, they’re, including the good guys, pretty easygoing about the whole thing, which doesn’t sit right with me either.
I hope there are good reasons, because right now it just feels like shonen logic.

Increasing work output is the worst way to go about this.

just because it exists does not mean it’s prevalent
You said “almost no anime”. 20 examples is already quite a lot and not exhaustive, some of them being pretty big names. That sounds pretty prevalent to me, even if it’s not the vast majority.
I’m saying that this is not even close to "the greatest sin in anime
Oh that I totally agree with. I wouldn’t even call it a sin.

Almost no anime do this
They do though. The most common one is checkered/plaid clothing. There’s even a TV Tropes page on it. In some cases like Gankutsuou it’s stylistic, but it is often a shortcut. I don’t really have a problem with it though.

The show is very dark, but the OP is bright and cheerful.
You say that like it’s a bad thing, but the misdirect is the point.
I think anime’s bigger sin is the use of CGI
It’s only a sin if done poorly, which admittedly is the case for many, but by now there are quite a lot that do a great job.

Noticing I’ve not seen that many anime movies (counting movie series as a package). Hence, I’m breaking the sequel/standalone rule.

Liz and the blue bird!

Why is Netflix so bad at releasing anime? Just do it like every other anime streaming service and have a 25 minute episode weekly. They’ve done this for some anime before and in Japan they do it for most anime. Batch releases suck ass and kill community engagement

Seems fun!

Hmm, time for a rewatch maybe…

The anime will stream exclusively on Netflix
Sad. I hope that it’s at least going to be simulcast. Their batch releases suck.

Alright final episode. Generally a good season, but I have big hang-ups about the new Asaemon wanting to kill the other Asaemon if they’re working together/protecting the criminals, no questions asked. It’s just not believable to me.
They were sent to the island, each partnered with a criminal. What did they think would happen? They had to work together. The reasoning makes no sense. Especially given that it’s hypocritical since the new Asaemon are also working together with criminals, the Iwagakure… Ones similar to Yuzuriha and from the same clan as Gabimaru. Like, just fucking talk to them and ask for a brief on the situation as even they should be able to tell they’ve been through hell and that there’s more important things going on.
The entire thing feels like a frankly unimportant sideplot to pad everything out and as an forceful plotdevice to be a hindrance to get to where they’re wanting to go. It doesn’t add anything beyond “oh man, I hope our MCs will make it in time to the boats”.
The Iwagakure side is a bit more interesting since it’s more relevant to Gabimaru’s own character and his established doubts/relation to the clan.

I don’t love such fake-out deaths
Same, but it’s not the 1st time they did this. I never really bought her dying because of it

What an incredible anime. I honestly don’t know what else to say, it’s just that good. Definitely best of season and already a likely contender for AOTY.
I hope the manga gets an official translation. I’m really curious about that version and although I can sail the seven seas for it, I want to support the mangaka who wrote this.
As much as I love Martian, I had to go with Hunting Soul. Mirage was close too
