  • I agree with your point, but want to highlight that at no point did I suggest people can’t be upset about multiple things. No offense intended toward you personally (or anyone really), but your response now seems to be the standard reaction to shut down anyone pointing out the disparity in media/public reaction between things like people dying or being repressed and material goods being vandalized or destroyed. It’s getting better, but the theme of reporting tended to be that property damage is a tragic loss of irreplaceable treasure, while genocide was more akin to “some people went to sleep and didn’t wake up again, maybe they should have complied”.

Of course people can be upset by multiple things. When the magnitude of upset over precious but ultimately replaceable things being destroyed is greater than that for irreplaceable people being destroyed, then we have a problem.

At least that’s my take and I’m anything but infallible.

  • I agree completely. I have a heritable connective tissue disorder that causes me trouble to no end, especially in frequently used muscles, like those in my forearms. I have to be very careful of what I do - not lift too much or grip too hard, avoid too much repetitive motion like typing or gaming, don’t hold things a certain way, etc. Once in awhile, I’ll forget and just do something like I used to, like catching something heavy, and I’ll be fine. Until the next morning, when I wake up in pain. Even then it’s still not awful, it’s the accumulation of multiple events that causes trouble. This isn’t in line with what most people consider a physical disability, so I occasionally get flack from people who think I’m faking. Sometimes I choose to deal with some pain so I can do normal things for a bit, but there’s no way I could do them every day for hours.

My point is a lot of people don’t understand how physical disabilities actually work and seem to love “disproving” your limitations. Especially lawyers fighting against your disability claims.

  • Lol, your rebuttals don’t even make sense. You know you’re on the Internet, right? You can actually look things up instead of making things up. I guess the problem is reality doesn’t match the propaganda you choose to believe, since the alternative is realizing you’re promoting genocide.

Every war in history kills more civilians than combatants. Normally that ratio is about 6:1.

Verifiably false. It’s approximately 50%. Even up to 2007, Israel was able to kill Palestinian militants versus civilians at a rate of approximately 2:3. Suddenly, it’s over 1:2. It’s almost as if all the videos and journalist eyewitness accounts of the “most moral army” indiscriminately killing men, women, and children are actually true! They’ve killed so many civilians, they’ve wiped out more than that US did in its three year campaign against the Islamic State.

Hamas is attacking aid trucks that are let in and stealing the aid to resell. It’s not starving the population to stop aiding the people attacking you.

Hey look guys, not only is Hamas in refugee camps and hospitals, Hamas is now in the IDF, shooting refugees trying to get aid! Hamas has also infiltrated the Israeli population and staged that pathetic “rave” that blocked humanitarian aid. Man, Hamas is everywhere!

    Back at you.

Yes, I’m clearly a mouthpiece for Israeli propaganda. I know you’re not much of a thinker, but come on.

This is more info for anyone on the fence. Don’t believe the Israeli genocidal propaganda, kids. It’s way too easy to disprove.

  • I did my part and sent them a “do this and I’ll never buy a Haier product” email. Corporations exist to maximize profits. Communities like ours just have to learn how to make it clear to them that shutting us out will hurt their profitability.

I think we should all be really proud of ourselves. We banded together and, regardless of WHY Haier is doing this, got them to open a line of communication. This is a huge win!

  • Hell yes! My sister-in-law has your same year but the diesel version and that thing is a champ. It’s rated at 45 mpg on the highway but she typically gets 50+, even with nearly 200k miles on it.

I had a 2004 1.8t Jetta for 12 years but I swapped it for a Prius. I love the Prius features and fuel economy but I miss how damn quick that my Jetta was, plus I loved the interior color scheme.
