I could see it as a handy backpackable rifle. It could be great to keep in a survival kit on long flights over the Canadian wilderness

It looks good when election season comes around. I can hear the audio clips now
“We are the only ones taking a stand against gun crime at the source, going after the biggest gun manufacturers that flood our streets with violence and tragedy”
I agree. It’s also by extension a right to personal protection independent of, not neccesarily against, the government.
I use to be a volunteer firefighter so us and the local police have worked together on various scenes and though we aren’t super tight I feel I can trust them to do their duties as cops safely and effectively.
That said I know what the realistic response times are. I also know that there have been break ins in the neighborhood, including attempts to get into my home. So among other basic security measures I have guns to protect my family and I during the time between a 911 call being made and the cops arriving. I also carry when I can. It’s not about being macho.
Did you know that people who own legos are much more likely to step on lego bricks?
And I know it’s a shock but people with elecricity in their homes are at a MUCH higher risk of death by electrocution and electrical fires.
That isn’t a good argument, no matter what it’s for/against.
On #4 Open Source Defense has a good article talking about safety at scale
Nope! They do look alike so it’s easy to link the two
Lugers are the WW2 pistol used by the Germans. I had the pleasure of firing one some relatives had that was mismatched enough to not be kept strictly as a collectors item. They eject the casings straight up which is interesting. Also not easy to take down and clean by today’s standards. I can see why soldiers struggled with those in field conditions.
Ruger, the company, has nothing to do with them as far as I can tell. These pistols are designed from the Nambu pistol the Japanese used. The company owner brought one back after the war and referenced it when making these. Ruger pistols have been around for many decades and they make the incredibly popular 10/22 rifles too
Don’t worry it confused me too when I first started researching these!
Anyway yeah I agree it does have a blaster vibe and I want to run tracers through it one evening for fun. It also would be right at home in a Metal Gear game!
Doctor/Noblex is what the internet says. The pistol came with a pic rail like the one you see the light attached to, and the optic came with a pic rail mount so I didn’t put much thought into the footprint when I bought the sight
It was recommended to me and I’m glad I went with it. It’s just about perfect for this pistol
UXOs are no joke. Imagine how long that was just sitting there before it was discovered!
I know Houthis have their motivations and shit is complicated but when you mess with civilian ships you mess with the economy. The US doesn’t like that. When you mess with US civilian ships they really don’t like that. About the only thing worse is attacking the US Navy directly.
I guess my point is firing at US related anything in a shipping lane has got to be one the fastest ways to get explosives delivered to your location.
Lol never! Why would I EVER think that the largest military power in the history of mankind would EVER be anything but good?
Training crashes are some of the most tragic accidents imo. I hope they find and correct whatever happened to them
The houthis were launching missiles and drones at civilian ships in the red sea for weeks before these strikes took place.
If the us/eu goal is to protect said traffic you can’t expect them to do nothing.
Licence plate scanning could be used too, but I agree it would be tricky and people will bypass it
The article says that odd and even registered vehicles will alternate for a week.
I hope it helps and leads to a plan that they can implement full time
He is a good dude as far as I can tell. He is a vet (animal, not military) that enjoys messing around with guns in a safe and entertaining way
