General Discussion@forum.guncadindex.com•Finished testing PET-CF; it sucksEnglish
1·1 month agoYes the SS. Also the T.U.R.D and the Glock FRT trigger shoe. I’ve used the T.U.R.D mostly but I’m too poor to put a lot of money towards ammo and I have to travel like 3 hours away if I want to use it. But I have around 120 rounds through it and it’s still holding on. Has some marks on the sides of the lever but that’s it. Ohhh, that sounds really cool. I’ve tried casting a SS with aluminum but my set up was too red necked and didn’t work, might try again though. But yeah proper mill could be great. Ohhhh care to share any about the project?

1·1 month agoI do not. I’ve only used it on things like grips, flashlight mounts, FRTs, etc… and while it’s held up great for what I’ve used it for, I haven’t yet tried any other CF or nylon filiment. The reason I chose PA612-CF is because in my research it seemed like a good middle ground between PA6-CF and PA12-CF in regards to water absorption, warping, ease of printing, strength, and absorption. but I need to do continued testing before I could make a good decision.

1·1 month agoThanks man. I really hope it works for you. I think the main deciding factor will be safety selector size and location matched with the upper/bolt geometry. I’ve only ever even seen the MPA defender clone so that’s all I have to go off of, but if it doesn’t, I hope someone will remix it to work with all of them. Fingers crossed!

2·2 months agoNo permanent modifications. Just take the safety selector out, slide the FRT in and reassemble. I should mention it will not be 3 position. Just safe and FRT. I’ll also add an install video in the files when I release it. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

3·2 months agoHeck yeah, that would be awesome. I still have some design tweaks and I want to live fire it with more then 3 rounds but once I’m done and have released it I’ll make an announcement. Thank you for being willing to do that!

2·4 months agoYeah I had a feeling. That’s some really good information, thank you. Hope someone tries to get make a 5rd burst. Maybe I’ll have to learn 3d modeling and make it myself. Thanks again!

By designing an idea I thought of that has a potential chance at working in tinkercad, then printing it, then testing it, then slightly editing it, printing it, then testing it, and so on. I think I printed and tested around 60 designs till I got my first reset, and then 80 different designs until I got it where it is now. I used tinkercad, a slightly bent tape measure, ibuprofen, and a lot of filament to get it to where it is. It really goes to show that anyone could do stuff like this if they hate themselves enough. Does that answer your question?
TLDR: I just tinkered with it till it worked.
