The “War on drugs” has been a colossal failure.

That’s only true if you believe the lies that the “war on drugs” was actually about drugs. It never has been, it was always about having an excuse to incarcerate and beat down groups they didn’t like; minorities, the poor, and the left.

When you look at it that way, it’s obvious that the war on drugs is actually a really successful means to an end. Just try not to have a heart and think of the countless lives they ruined to keep a boot on peoples’ neck.

Jumping a turnstile and taking a physical, actually scarce resource is not comparable to duplicating a digital, artificially scarce resource.

The train requires ongoing maintenance and can only hold a finite amount of people. Taking the train seat for free takes away something from another person. Downloading media does not use any ongoing resources, and does not take anything away from another consumer.

Comparing the morality of physical goods to digital goods are not really a good comparison specifically because of the artificial scarcity brought on by making something digital to try to make it more expensive doesn’t map to the real scarcity of physical goods.

So just swap new drives in one at a time, after backing your data up just in case. I upgraded mine to 4x10 drives 3-4 years ago, and its painless as long as you wait for the resilvering process to complete.

Yes! Thank you for putting this out there. I always forget about that aspect of it, and I was actually just listening to an episode of Hood Politics (You wasn’t outside part 2) that went over this and had a really good set of clips from a rabbi that expounded on this very topic.

Because speaking out against Israel is very frequently (and maliciously) intentionally misconstrued as antisemitism to allow them to get away with crimes against humanity. It’s been this way for decades, it’s just a lot more open and obvious currently.

Yeah, the Germans skipped the decades and decades of a apartheid regime and skipped straight to open genocide after a handful of years of oppression.

That’s interesting, considering Israeli government officials wouldn’t confirm the veracity of the photos, and after the US Whitehouse made the same claims, they were also walked back because they saw news reports and not photographic evidence. Same with multiple news orgs.

Given the amount of walking back and refusal to verify, along with going radio silent about it, means this is a BS story in my mind. If this had really happened, Israel wouldn’t be able to stop themselves from plastering it across every news feed that would run them as evidence of hamas’ barbarism.

I went looking and there isn’t much being returned short of 5-6 days ago, but I’ve seen no proof that it happened, only people walking back that they never really saw photos and were taking Israeli spokes-heads at face value. Here’s a Boston globe opinion piece from today that still claims the information is/was unverified.

If you go back and read, they didn’t accuse China of anything. They only stated that if they felt the need to have bombed the peoples, they would have. But maybe you’re right that China would not have done that, so I’ll just keep looking for the wiki page for NOTHING-BAD-HAPPENED Square.

Is that worse than children dying of starvation, constant destruction of infrastructure and housing, or fuel and food blockades? Does it matter if the violence is directly inflicted or is just institutionalized?
