How is this news? Gas companies have been doing it for at least 60 years. Oil price goes up? Prices go up at midnight. Oil price goes down? You see, friend, this gasoline was made with the expensive oil, there’s a certain lag in the supply chain that we need to account for etc. etc.
Pure capitalism knows just one correct price, and that’s the price that the market will bear. Combine it with a monopoly and sky’s the limit.
FFS, it’s called a price for a reason.
If it were up to me I would turn the fucker around. Maximum listed on the menu, and if the customer behaved like an actual human being instead of an entitled prick, their final bill would be reduced by up to 20%.
I read the exchange live this morning. The only possibility left to us is a personal AI of our own that would act as a press officer. Maybe with an AI detector that actually works and a pass through / hold for human mode in case there’s a verified person on the other side.
