Been using my Honor Magic V2 for 2.5 years now, might be the best phone I’ve ever had. If I could change two things, it would be perfect: I’d love for it to be 1-2cm shorter and properly support third party launchers. Otherwise, no complaints at all.
It’s made worse by the fact that often these apps are preinstalled and documents are saved to cloud-synced folders by default. My Samsung laptop came configured like that, mildly infuriatingly.
How many people do you think have their diaries in the cloud as Word documents on Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. That’s actually not that different even if it may feel like it.
I find it fascinating though that this narrative that AI is just stupid shit is so, so prevalent on Lemmy. I mean people here seem to be quite tech-savvy on average. Surely they must understand what an incredible development AI has gone through in the last 10 years? They must be smart enough to understand that LLMs are a tool that, if used right, are extremely powerful. See all the potential in medicine, chemistry, etc… But all I read is “LLM stupid parrot amirite LOL”… it’s almost infuriating. I mean, I totally get the whole economic point - big tech is screwing us over, I absolutely agree with that. But that is a completely different conversation that people here make impossible to have because they just focus on a ridiculously wrong aspect of AI which is that it is not the perfect AGI they read about in their comic books.
I’ve been trying to discuss this on Lemmy for a while now. Don’t bother. People here are convinced that LLMs can’t be intelligent because they’ve once seen them make a stupid mistake. Ergo AI as a whole must be just a stupid scam.
I don’t think this is going to sell well.
I got my X3 a few months ago and I’ve read more books since then than in the last 3 years before that combined. Love the little thing.
Thanks! It’s similar to the Samsung Fold 8 in terms of size, right? I tried that one in a shop recently because I thought the size was interesting but it felt a bit too wide for my hands. The Xiaomi with its rounded corners might be a better fit though, thanks. I’m also waiting for more info on the rumored Motorola Razr Flex which seems to be a very interesting form factor as well (even smaller, and not as wide).
