Once again, the Simpsons predicted it.

A lot of companies claim to plan on open sourcing their products but never do. They get the positive headlines but none of the obligation. It’s a very modern form of greenwashing.

The only device running Snap in my house is a Raspberry Pi running the Snap Nextcloud and it’s rock solid.
This might be a deployment issue. How are most people running it?
You can use the character without infringing the trademark. Part of the reason they scatter the hidden Mickey shape everywhere is because that’s part of the branding.
A good example of using the character without infringing trademark is the “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” movie.
That’s why it’s trademarked. Unlike a copyright, trademarks can last forever.
“Why would activists pull a stunt that would bring attention to their concerns from the main stream media?”

The solution for capitalism-out-of-control is not more capitalism. The less big money players in the fediverse the better.
Look, you don’t have to lie to yourself anymore.
This is called projection.
Nobody will? We already do. 🤣
There are about 44 Hydrogen fueling stations in the USA right now. Every home and parking structure damn near has at least a power outlet.
Today you can do a cross county road trip with an EV. You can not do that with a Fuel Cell. I don’t see that changing. Batteries are just more convenient.
Right now EVs can be charged at home with power they can generate themselves via solar panels. How is going back to a gas station a better and more convenient solution? Also, you think battery tech will never evolve?
Running a solution like Wiregaurd + VPS or Tailscale is probably your best solution. It’ll be transparent for you and won’t set off any red flags for the network.
I’ve run tailscale on a cellular home internet platform as well a shared one like you have and it was slick.
Remember a homelab can be anything from multiple rack mounts humming along in your basement to just SBC running some clever Podman containers. Everyone’s wants, needs, and interests are different.
Sounds like most of what you want to do could be done with one or two machines, a decent switch, and some kind of Wi-Fi access point. There is no wrong or right way to do it.
Teacher fired for promoting education. Got it.
It’s open source and it’s free to use. Anything can sound bad when you just make shit up.
Your silence on Ken is deafening.
The average family has 1.6 to 2.4 children depending on the region. The “even more” argument doesn’t really hold up because that’s not the societal norm.
I also don’t own a car and cycle/bus everywhere. My girlfriend and I made the choice not to have kids, and we try not to be wasteful. It’s not about sacrifice, it’s about being aware of what you do.
The environmental impact was not the ONLY reason I’m child free but it was definitely a factor in that decision. Same with being carfree. In fact I do a lot of things for not than one reason.
Le Potato aka Libre Computer is still on Amazon in the US for $35.
Their static website hosting is probably the best in the business. We seriously need some competition though.
