Chinese internal consumption grew since the first Trump republican admin. This will drive their local industries even further and grow the significance of relationships with its neighbors. Then here in the US, we’ll spend less, have worse trade relations with neighbors and overseas countries, a good portion of us will have less interest in domestic made goods.

The US stupidly skipped to the end of a trade war plan. Didn’t shore up domestic manufacturing beforehand. Didn’t gather agreement with alliance countries to wage war together with. Didn’t shore up support from the population to shoulder higher prices. No good will built. I have friends scared to leave the country. Husbands/spouses from Canada or Mexico. Friends that did research in Cuba, Venezuela, some other country that Trump defaults to everyone is evil. After the detention of the canadians and germans, everyone’s scared of US travel. No one is scared to visit an east/southeast asian country.
