Yeah, me too. It is quick and easy. I use SyncThing for things I want to keep synced.

I run CalyxOS on FP4, and I like it. It also has FP5 support. As far as I know, mobile Linux distros like postmarketOS work on (at least) FP4, but key phone functionality is lacking. There’s a functionality matrix on their wiki.

This is what I use. Replaced my old Fitbit Aria 2. I weighed in on both scales for about a month, and it was consistently 0.15 kg below, which is good. The body fat measurement was a bit more off, and it varies almost nothing over long periods of time, but I don’t really trust those measurements anyway.

I believe you can set up the scale in GadgetBridge as well, but I have not tried to do that.

I use ledger. I have not automated so much outside of autocomplete macros in my text editor, but it doesnt’t take too much time and forces me to look over my spend, so I like it. I will eventually attempt to build some kind of Dash-application for visualisation of the output, but have only started on the parsers so far.

Jellyfin is also useful for music collection. I tried both it and Navidrome to start with, and ended up only using Jellyfin.

There are some periods where YouTube make changes frequently so that e.g. FreeTube stops working for some time, but for the most part it works reliably well. I would say it provides a much better convenience than watching on youtube.com logged out, as you have profiles, subscriptions, playlist and history. Including adblock, sponsorblock and dearrow, and granular control over what to show or not (comments, shorts, live etc.).

Ok, thanks. I don’t want to name (and shame) them before they’ve had a chance to provide other options, and I’ve been happy with the support from them before. But I know it doesn’t help you help me. I’m pretty sure it is not integrated based on the way they describe it. I could try to open it later and see if I can identify it. A decade of Macbooks, and the prospects of opening a laptop seems scary somehow, even though I’m an engineer and have regularly opened up much more expensive equipment in my work… though not computer related.

From the way they describe it in their answers to me, it seems they believe the fault is in a subboard that can be replaced (although with the possibility of a fault in the mainboard as well). If it’s just connected with a ribbon connector, is that something you generally would be able to replace yourself? I might still end up having to send it in, but the wait time is in this very moment unbearable.

I do have a USB audio interface that I use when “docked” at my desk, and I use a headset when I am on the go (which is seemingly not affected at all by this, I suspect there is a connection to the speakers themselves that is affected). This is mainly a problem when using it somewhere else in my apartment, and especially in the sofa where it is moved a lot while on it.

I recently started organizing my music to use with Jellyfin and/or Navidrome. Since Jellyfin requires a particular folder structure, I used this, and I’ve also used MusicBrainz Picard to tag all my music so that it works better with Navidrome. I ended up just using Jellyfin as it suited my needs perfectly, and using it with a desktop client on my laptop (Feishin) and mobile client on my phone (Finamp).

The way Jellyfin requires it to be organised is the way I would’ve done it myself anyway:

In my experience, if you try to organize based on genres, you need to have a very defined sense of what genres everything you have is. Either you stick with very broad genres (Rock, Jazz etc.) or you get tons of subgenres that you quickly lose control over if you don’t know exactly what is what. Since the clients I use have the possibility to sort by genre, I am planning on giving it an overhaul at some point, but then I will use very broad genres.
