It’s extremely telling that your comment is the first I’ve heard of that aspect of the election in Hungary. The mainstream press in the US effectively shrugged and said “I guess they just got tired of him”

In fact, it feels a lot like how the press in my country “explained” Obama’s first election. Just a vague “Americans are tired of the Republican leadership and wanted change,” Like the torture and disappearing of anyone they could sweep under the abstract wars of the time wasn’t outrageous enough

I need all the optimism left in me just to believe we’ll have textbooks worth thinking about in the future

LMAO, yes! I feel like I should start throwing different bot farm projects at the wall and see what “sticks” enough to get me rich … Except I don’t have a clue how to start

From my experiences growing up in a religious family that was complicit/adjacent to this mindset, I am all but convinced this is exactly what they feel
