This is a ban of those apps on work issued devices, not personal devices. I suspect there’s a range of reasons for doing this but I don’t think the apps being compromised is one of those reasons. Most likely the opposite, the apps work too well.

I think this is a limitation of Android that cannot be overcome.

I think Collabora Online uses or is built on LibreOffice. It’s a subscription service but you can host it yourself for free (I think for personal use). I’ve not tried either. I’m pretty sure the Collabora team are big code contributors to LibreOffice. If I got anything wrong I hope someone will correct me.

Yeah apparently it models all the layers of the Earth’s core, not just the crust. Have fun playing around with it.

Dunno, I just catch public transport or walk everywhere. I know this option isn’t as accessible or available for everyone. I also don’t want to have an app for every single thing so that’s why I’ve never used uber or the like (including food delivery) and just waited by the roadside to hail a cab on the very rare occasions I needed one. Again, something I know not everyone has immediate or close access to.

Netanyahu is deeply unpopular in Israel for other reasons. That doesn’t translate into more support for Palestinians within Israel.

As for Palestinian support for Hamas or the actions of Hamas, Palestinians cannot be clearer, given the circumstances under which they find themselves Hamas represents the resistance to Israeli occupation, apartheid and genocide.

It’s not possible to draw an equivalence between the two.

Anyway, I edited my initial reply for clarity but I don’t think it will help because my phrasing makes it sound like I’m the one who thinks the director’s comments are antisemitic. I don’t.

I don’t remember where I read it but some Zionists do not consider non/anti Zionist Jews to be real Jews. So yes, they would consider this antisemitic. If I find the source I’ll add it here.

If switching client doesn’t help the other thing to consider is federation. There were a couple of recent-ish issues related to bugs and instances running different versions of Lemmy. They seem to have cleared up a bit but it’s worth remembering when it comes to troubleshooting. Good.luck.
