Websites work very well and are scalable af. A plugged in person with a track record like that could go Web 2.0 and probably net more.

meyotch@slrpnk.netto Politics@beehaw.org•Josh Hawley is directly targetting leftists now51·25 days agoI’m fine with their platform and I do go to their events now and then, so any shade I throw is dappled with some sunshine.
My main beef is they call themselves a ‘party’ and that means getting candidates elected. If that isn’t your goal, you aren’t a political party.
My feeling has been that they waste the energy of a lot of early adopters and teach them means of political engagement that render them ineffective.
meyotch@slrpnk.netto Politics@beehaw.org•Josh Hawley is directly targetting leftists now32·25 days agoPSL is not even a real political party. They do not get anyone elected and they have rarely ever even had candidates. They are much too concerned about some strange sort of ideological purity.
It is a weird club for people who enjoy having protests to go to on the regular. Poorly attended protests usually, but they do get to talk amongst themselves about how much better things will be after a revolution they take no effective steps toward fomenting.
I suspect the imagine they are in the vanguard of something, but it has been over 80 years since they were founded.

meyotch@slrpnk.netto Star Wars@lemmy.world•What throwaway lines from the Original Trilogy would you like to see explored more in live action or animation?2·2 months agoThat’s one thing they are not consistent about at all in the SW universe, the rules of hyperspace.
In the final sequel film, a ship entering hyperspace is a deadly relativistic weapon that slices a star cruiser in half. In Rogue One, as the ad-hoc rebel fleet begins to flee at the approach of overwhelming force, fleeing ships bounce uselessly off like gnats.
Battlestar Galactica did ‘hyperspace’ best in my opinion. The atmospheric belly-flop maneuver was dramatic because they had well-established reasons why it was a risky and daring move.

Seconded, for the second time!

In my book, you have become the barely-lesser of the evils we have been forced to choose from.

Good call out on the smart values. That’s on the priority list for my monitoring scheme now too.
Thanks for the tip on measuring temp of the ram, too. I will incorporate that into my monitoring scheme.
The mini pc I have has a good case design with a fan that blows across the ram, cpu and ssd. So I think it has good cooling, but I will definitely confirm with some monitoring.
Oh boy, can of worms just opened. Awesome insight. I do have an ecosystem of servers already and i have a pi zero 2 set aside to develop as a dedicated system watchdog for the whole shebang. I have multiple wifi networks segregated for testing and personal use. Use both built in wifi for the network connection and a wifi adapter to scan my sub networks.
So great insight and it helps some things click into place.
Thanks, a solid suggestion.
I have explored that direction and would 100% agree for most home setups. I specifically need HA running in an unsupervised environment, so Add-ons are not on the table anyway. The containerized version works well for me so far and it’s consistent with my overall services scheme. I am developing an integration and there’s a whole other story to my setup that includes different networks and test servers for customer simulations using fresh installs of HASS OS and the like.
I posted a snippet of the Declaration on Insta today without any explanation.
I am now at home awaiting the arrival of the unmarked vans.
