Hey all!

Because the “PWC: DLC” (DownLoadable Content, for you boomers and non-gamers) will be releasing soon, I figured I’d make a post and open up a general Q&A about the PWC.

Questions are not limited to the DLC, 9mm, or 5.7 - all questions about the PWC are welcome!

    Damn, those look incredible. I’ve not yet printed any firearms (recently moved somewhere I legally could), but this looks like a super interesting project.

    For the either (but more focused on the 9mm) what’s the estimated longevity on these? I know the DB alloy had the side plates for some longevity improvements.

    Also for packability how does this compare to a DB alloy size wise?

      great questions!

      as the frame is designed to be FDM printed, the lasting nature of it will be solely determined by both your material of choice and the quality of your printer/slicer.

      The 5.7 though, specifically, is HILARIOUSLY low recoil and required the least amount of mass to succeed (and still hasn’t ever broke).

      The DB Alloy will inherently take up more space as it has both a magwell and a pistol grip / trigger guard for the AR FCG it relies upon. I wouldn’t get too hung up on the side plates - they were a pressure vessel containment strategy that looked VERY cool, but were ultimately overkill for what absorbs energy (the trunnion primarily, as it holds the barrel and the blast, and the backplate secondarily, as it just bounces the bolt back and forth from the remaining blowback force)

    whats the difference between these files.

    Printed - Both Catches Printed - Lower Catch Printed - Upper Catch

    Ive printed the PWC9 thicc frame… have all the parts and about to put it together.

      i mean, it’s right there in the name, sten designs have used the upper hole, the lower reinforcement plate, and the side cutout - there’s versions for each design

      the pwc 9 relies on the lower only

        yeah… this hobby is an investment… at least to me… i value how i spend my money… just chucking rounds for the sake of it doesnt seem appealing to me. i like precision and hitting steels or paper where i intend to hit.

    is anyone having to file down the l-brackets ? i cant get them to match up or sit flush in the frame slot. i believe i cleared out the support material from those areas. any other suggestions ? file down brackets ? heat brackets prior to inserting into frame ?

    edit… figured it out…

        just had to clear out material in the bracket slots… i used a thin enough file to clear out the bracket slots and after that was able to sit the brackets in flush… now i can run the m4 bolts through each bottom bolt hole pairs.

        now i am cutting the smooth rods to size…

        i took your advice and purchased some extra long smooth rods and just cut them to size as needed.

    seems like the safety is blocking the trigger from fully coming down thuus pushing the sear/trigger block back to disengage/disconnect the hammer. im guessing the tumbler is supposed to roll back to allow the trigger to come down far enough ? what am i missing here ? will the mpa9mm safety selector work ?

    outside of that, the build is complete… i the meantime i can range test without the safety installed.

      firured out the safety issue. the sear and trigger bar were not correctly installed.

      now need to print another charging handle. i would say plastic charging handles are not it. will have to order a metal ch.
