Do we have anything similar sailing around?
Trying to understand if I can print the Galileo R2 lower receiver and stock and fit it to the rest of a regular 10/22.
Thank you!

I have 2 of the chortex chassis with kaewons 10/22 receiver. Love the combo. Also the duplex folder version 1.2 by maverick is probably the best brace and is identical quality to strike industries braces. I have a few strike industries and a few Chinese knockoffs and my duplex folder is more sturdy. You can be all in for less than 150 bucks for a 10/22 this way.
Printed it already, can’t figure out if I am doing something wrong, but the rest of the gun kinda wiggles up and down. I thought the barrel would rest on the end of the receiver, but it’s actually much thinner than the spaces there.
Also, can you recommend a good grip? What are you running?
Thank you!
There are a dozen different sizes of 10/22 barrels so most chassis designs “free float” the barrel. The receiver should be a snug fit into the chassis so that when you tighten the bolt in front of the magwell, there is no movement. If that’s not the case, you may want to check the dimensional accuracy of your print.
Thank you for your answer! Do I understand correctly that the barrel does not touch the chassis at any point (so the ribs are for structural rigidity) and the receiver is held my a single bolt in front of the magwell? The printed the shortest version and thought that may be was the culprit.
Correct. Large diameter “bull” barrels may contact the forend, but not standard carbine barrels.
As kopsis has said the design is so that most if not all free float. I do have some wiggle with the forend but it’s nothing crazy. The longer the forearm the more wiggle I get. You are suppose to technically jb weld or glue them for more stability but I don’t because I like to change the handguards around. There is a remix I believe on makerworld that has more rigid ribs on the handguards. On the shortest version it’s pretty solid. Mid to long there’s a lot less wobble. If I glued or JB welded it I am sure it would be fine.
