Which was after the people of Crimea and Donbass rose up to oppose an illegal US orchestrated fascist coup in Kiev that installed a Nazi puppet regime that persecutes Russian speakers and hates the people of Eastern Ukraine. The people of Crimea wanted no part of that and voted to leave Ukraine, and Russia protected them from the fascist thugs that were terrorizing Eastern Ukraine.

This is… yup, AFTER Russia invaded Crimea in a fashion that clearly violates internationally established rules of military conflict. So I don’t believe that report can be taken at face value as proof of the thing you say it is. And citing CNN doesn’t really hold much water for me, to be perfectly honest.
