You’re probably right. I’m gonna call around and get a quote on the whole tube but I am not going to get my hopes up. Can do two full size cans plus a K size with 1 tube so mayyybe worth.
I am not experienced with cerakote on aluminum. Would you expect it to scratch pretty easy?

I got a machine shop in china to make me a batch in 4140 black oxides. I was thinking I would start my own company with it, but it’s so saturated I dont think it makes sense. The machine shop that made them had some difficulties making the cams and had to make some intricate tooling.
I could part with a few of you want. I don’t need 200 of them…
Could also pass on the machine shop info if anyone wants since they have the tooling/fixtures.
Is that handguard sailing?
I am also wondering about a guide or build video. I figured with this being such a popular build that there would be more literature or a video.
I have everything but the handguard printed, but am curious on the charging handle. The read me gives general instructions but just says to use a “short 1/8” Allen key”. I am also wondering if it should be glued into the charging handle and if the slappy knob should be glued to the end of the Allen?
Maybe once I get to building it will be very intuitive and that’s the reason there is no need for docs.

Anneal in oven after print and then let sit at room temperature for weeks?
No sealant but a whole lot of JB weld. Interesting. Well this shows I definitely need to give it more time to saturate.
I did see posts on the old fosscad of people boiling their prints. Maybe I’ll try that too.

The two metal steel pieces that lock the muzzle device are wanting to creep out and they almost look bent. It’s slightly cracking at the spot this metal rods touch the PA6. But yes, I am just going to fill it in and hope she holds.
That’s a good point. I put it in a mini oven for about 4 hours at 180F after the print and then sealed it up probably 2-3 days after. What’s the right way to do it? Maybe let it naturally reach moisture equilibrium after for longer after the oven anneal?

I pulled the plug back and it looks like it might still be somewhat usable. The KAK flash hider is still in place, but the reinforcement high speed steel bars are creeping into the nylon and cracked slightly. Could maybe become a dedicated 22 can I guess.

Beautiful. Your ftn4 remix with the carbon fiber and three lines at the end is my fav design so far. So you cerakoted the whole thing once it’s done I see. I like that, just need to find someone that can do it. Do you plan on posting any ftn5 remixes? How does this one differ from regular?
