In the construction of a FTN.5/4.5/4/3, etc is it recommended to anneal the PA6-CF? It seems it looses some of it’s impact resistance and flex but temperature resistance increases and also becomes stiffer and slightly more brittle. I’m assuming it’s recommended but just wanted to verify. Thanks!
So we had a PPA-CF one on a 14.5" that broke. Also a PA6CF one on a 10.5" that broke.
I think you have a chance if you use PA6CF.
It seems that PPA-CF is weaker than PA6CF, although I am told by confuzled that it may be because we couldnt print higher than 300 degrees, and impact resistance is improved if youre printing at 320

I’ll probably try it out since the new flow through can prints way easier for me. Had to use the tight breek because the original one had too much play and caused bore misalignment. So far so good now.
any reports on pps-cf printed at temps >350 ?
Nope, nobody was set up to be able to print over 300.
I have been told that performance is much better when printed at 320 or higher
cool… once i get my qidi plus 4 gears cleaned, i may try to print something in pps-cf.
i may also try plain pps…

And that seemed to be pretty telling. It sound like PPS-CF may be substantially inferior to PA6CF on some properties
