This is like saying the US “liberated” the khorengal valley when we were doing the whole Afghanistan quagmire thing. You guys did it too, remember? I don’t recall it working out well for you, either.

Also, how does it feel to be creating a comically pervasive and difficult to detect violent insurgency composed overwhelmingly of people that can both speak and visually + culturally pass as Russian? Because even if Russia somehow entirely annexes Ukraine, that shit is gonna make Chechnya and Afghanistan and Iraq and The Troubles and so on look like a kindergarten tea party in comparison.

When you definitely know what’s going on, what the war is about and what each side’s objectives are

The Russian narrative about “persecution of ethnic Russians” is categorical bullshit. It’s a casus belli for their invasion made entirely out of whole cloth.

The actual motivation is expansionism, and Putin’s desire to recreate something between the USSR and Tsarist Russia thereby creating a legacy for himself as a modern day Alexander the Great. He’s alluded and implied as much in interviews he’s done with various news outlets, both in and out of Russia.

Complete and utter nonsense. Everyone, including the Western architects of this conflict, admits that the number one cause of the conflict was NATO expansion. On top of that the 2014 coup, and Ukraine’s brazen refusal to implement the Minsk agreements made escalation inevitable. Also, recreating the USSR would be a good thing. Unfortunately Putin has no intention of doing that.

Here you go ethnic cleansing denier, take it up with with the people in this CNN report from 10 years ago.

          Disgusting fascist behavior.

There is no insurgency because the people of Eastern Ukraine hate the fascist Kiev regime and welcome the Russians as liberators. The Ukrainian Nazis know this and are extra brutal toward the people in Eastern Ukraine, who they hate and terrorize and kill just like Israelis do to Palestinians.

As a result the people in Eastern Ukraine give away positions of the fascists to the Russian army and offer shelter to Russian soldiers, who in turn give them more help than any Ukrainian government ever has.

Russia has no intention to annex all of Ukraine and never has. Only the historic Russian regions full of Russian speaking people who are being persecuted and genocided by the Nazi regime. And even that they only do reluctantly because Ukraine left them no choice when it refused to abide by the Minsk agreements and shelled the Donbass for eight years.
